Jeff in the Unemployment Line

April 5, 2010

One of the consequences of my falling into porn was losing ministry job in the NorthEast.  We left New York to move to North Carolina and I had to find a non-ministry job.  I fell back on my Finance background and have been working as a financial analyst for the past two years as a contractor.

We’ll my contract finally went out, and I’m spending my first week as an unemployed person.

In the recent past, I’ve had a difficult time with it.  I’ve had to lean on my support group, recovery buddies, and wife for support.  Fortunately, Marsha and I are on the same page in this and trusting God for the process.

In addition to looking for a job and my list of “honey-do’s” I’m working on several things that relate to recovery.

1.  Finish My First E-Book – I’m working on an e-book right now called “How to Deal With the Crisis Stage of Sexual Addiction”.  I have been working on this the last couple of months and should be finished with the writing this week.  I can’t wait to share this with our P2P community.

2.  Updating our Website – Very soon we’ll launch our new website.  It’s a consolidated versions of our sites and blogs.  I’ll be finishing the content on this very soon.

3.  Recording Some Podcasts – I’ve got a ton of Top Tips For Sexual Purity podcasts ready for recording.  I’m glad to have some chunks of time to bust them out.

[BTW – If you want to hear the effect the pollen is having on my allergies, listen to Episode 61 of Tops Tips.  Very gravelly… very funny!]

4.  Spend Some Time Healing – I’m looking forward to some quiet times with God to work on my own healing.  I’ve been pushing so hard the last 2 1/2 years since our move to NC.  I need a break.  I need my soul refreshed.  I need some wounds healed.

** So, you can pray for me and our family during this time of uncertainty.  I look forward to talking with you more during this time off! or drop a comment on the blog
